    If I was going to ask for anything, I’d ask for backtracking… now the problem is my friends I want to follow aren’t all in one place.

    No. I just made that term up to refer to the practice of having to track one’s friends through more than one social network. My attention & time are limited so I don’t tend to check more than any two places at a time… so if I check my identica friends (and facebook, or blog feed, etc), I probably won’t check twitter. And vice versa. I would like to be able to read my twitter friends in identica without asking them to switch services, therefore.
