sweet vacation

Published by at 11:44 am under Uncategorized

I practically ran out of my workplace early yesterday, making my 11 days off just a couple hours longer. Then I frantically did the shopping and cleaning that I’ve been putting off. Today, I am finishing up all of my Christmas cards — so yes, they will be New Year’s cards, thanks. I am just about to go out to breakfast to finish them at the cafe…

That done, I then need to mail said cards, return some library books, drop by my workplace to pick up some printouts I forgot, come home and wrap some presents, and then do a stupid amount of laundry and figure out what to pack. I’m leaving Monday for a trip into the wild blue yonder Texas and Oklahoma. This is not so bad; I like my family, and I have five days or so to hang out with them, not have to cook or really do much of anything, and hopefully get a tremendous amount of writing done in the afternoons.

Then a quick trip to Seattle, then home. I wish more of this break were being spent here, but alas, what can you do?

& co. are dropping by late tonight (or early tomorrow morning) on their madcap drive to the PNW; I don’t envy them doing this with a two-year-old, but they seem to have things at least moderately under control.
