A LONG STRETCH OF TEMPERATURES OVER 100 DEGREES IS FORECAST FOR THE INTERIOR VALLEY OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE HEAT WAVE…WHICH STARTED YESTERDAY OVER MOST AREAS…IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE WARMEST READINGS WILL LIKELY OCCUR OVER THE WEEKEND WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 105 TO 113 DEGREES OVER MUCH OF THE CENTRAL VALLEY.
DURING HEAT WAVES…PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEEK OUT AIR CONDITIONED LOCATIONS AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. FOR THOSE PERSONS PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES…TRY TO AVOID THE HOTTEST PART OF THE DAY. DON’T FORGET THAT ANIMALS WILL ALSO NEED PLENTY OF WATER AND A SHADY PLACE TO REST. DO NOT LEAVE PETS OR PEOPLE IN CLOSED VEHICLES FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME.
Looks like it will drop below 100 by the 28th.
Oddly, I seem to be acclimatizing ok, which I didn’t think would happen so soon. But it feels just like summer when I was a kid. Except now I have an air conditioned office to go to 9 hours a day, A++.
